With less than a week until the Feb. 23 NBA trade deadline, here’s a look at the latest in the rumor mill …

* After relatively quiet few days, ESPN’s Marc Stein is reporting Friday that the Detroit Pistons and Orlando Magic are having discussions centered around point guard Reggie Jackson:

The Pistons and Magic have discussed a trade that would send Reggie Jackson to Orlando for D.J. Augustin and Jeff Green, league sources say.

Not yet clear if talks go past the “discussion” phase but Detroit, as @ZachLowe_NBA noted this week, has been exploring its Reggie options.

In a long look at the Pistons earlier this week, Lowe reported Detroit had “quietly explored” the trade market for Jackson and Andre Drummond, but was “disappointed with the potential return.” Lowe noted that while a Drummond deal is a long shot, Jackson was in play for Minnesota, Orlando, New Orleans, “or some mystery destination.”

* Meanwhile in New York, ESPN’a Ian Begley takes a look at the 23-34 Knicks, who sit four games out of the playoff picture and continue to slide down the conference standings. Carmelo Anthony has been the subject of trade speculation for months, but is there another name to keep an eye on?

Multiple teams view Rose as a potential trade target, according to league sources.

It would be surprising if the Knicks didn’t get calls about Rose as the deadline approaches. He has struggled on defense and hasn’t distributed the ball well, but he has shown that he’s again one of the best lane penetrators in the NBA.

The Knicks traded for Rose last June, acquiring the former league MVP in a five-player deal with the Chicago Bulls.

* The Atlanta Hawks traded away Kyle Korver and pulled four-time All-Star forward Paul Millsap off the market last month, but “remain active,” according to Chris Vivlamore of the Atlanta Journal-Constitution:

The Hawks’ interest is in adding to the current roster. There is no guarantee that a deal will be made before the Feb. 23 deadline. However, more than one deal is possible ahead of the stretch run of the regular season and playoffs.

To be considered in trade talks, is that the Hawks have an open roster spot available.

Vivlamore mentions the expiring contracts of Tiago Splitter, Thabo Sefolosha, Kris Humphries, Mike Scott and Mike Muscala as options, along with a bevy of draft picks.

The NBA trade deadline is Thursday, Feb. 23 at noon PT.
