Notre Dame received its third Class of 2018 commitment in two days when three-star offensive tackle Cole Mabry of Brentwood, Tenn., announced Tuesday via Twitter that he will play for the Irish.

Mabry’s commitment follows those the Irish landed Monday from four-star safety Derrik Allen and four-star cornerback Kalon Gervin, and it brings the number of commitments in the class to nine.

The 6-foot-6, 265-pound Mabry is the first offensive lineman in the class. He chose the Irish over offers from Cincinnati, Colorado State, Indiana and Memphis after getting the Notre Dame offer during a visit to South Bend, Ind., last weekend.

Mabry ranks 48th nationally at his position and 18th overall in Tennessee in the 247Sports.com composite rankings. Notre Dame’s class has a No. 2 composite ranking behind Penn State.

The Irish could get more good news Friday, when four-star Warren wide receiver Micah Jones is scheduled to announce his college choice. The third-ranked player in Illinois, Jones will choose from among Notre Dame, Iowa, Michigan State, Nebraska, Mississippi, Illinois and Northwestern.
