Unless the Jets draft someone (unlikely) with the No. 6 pick, they aren’t acquiring some stud to take over at quarterback next year. Tony Romo isn’t coming to Florham Park, and the other available options will be available for a reason.

3 questions Jets must answer this offseason

Colin Kapernick is far from the player he used to be. Tyrod Taylor is good, but not elite. Mike Glennon is big uncertainty. Matt Schaub, Matt McGloin and Josh McCown are backups.

It’s not easy to find a quarterback. So when teams get one, they don’t him walk.

But say the Jets could have their pickings of any past quarterback in their history to return, in their prime, in 2017? Who would be the best bet?

Chad Pennington? Vinny Testaverde? Joe Namath? Ryan Fitz… (kidding). There haven’t been many, but the Jets have had some quality passers throughout their history.

And so we’ve compiled a list of some of the best passers from the Jets’ past. Note: For players like Brett Favre, this is not the Packers’ or Vikings’ Favre, but the one who played one year for the Jets in 2008. Same goes for Boomer Esiason.

Drop a word or two in the comment section to let us know why you picked the quarterback you did. Voting will close on Monday, Feb. 13, with results reveled the next day.
