It looks like Alabama coach Nick Saban is looking for another offensive coordinator — again.
Several reports indicate that the Atlanta Falcons have hired former Washington and USC coach and current Alabama offensive coordinator Steve Sarkisian as their new offensive coordinator.

NFL.com reports that both sides are in the process of completing a deal where negotiations started earlier this winter.
Sarkisian, who will turn 43 next month, was fired by USC in 2015 after showing up at several team functions as intoxicated. He worked some games on television before joining Saban’s staff with the Crimson Tide as an analyst last September.

When Lane Kiffin left to become the new head coach at FAU, Sarkisian was installed as Alabama’s offensive coordinator a week before the national championship game. Clemson won the game 35-31.
This will be Sarkisian’s second gig with an NFL team, as he served as quarterbacks coach of the Oakland Raiders in 2004. He will replace previous Falcons offensive coordinator and former Texas wide receiver Kyle Shanahan, who left to take the 49ers head coaching job.
There are coaches on the #Falcons staff learning about Steve Sarkisian via the media.
And just a guess here. But if Sarkisian, long a proponent of a strong running game, was faced with a third-and-1 situation like the Falcons were twice in Super Bowl LI, he likely would have run the ball.
