Five Portland Thorns players have been named to the U.S. Women’s National Team ahead of the upcoming SheBelieves Cup.
Tobin Heath, Lindsey Horan, Allie Long, Meghan Klingenberg and Emily Sonnett were among 25 played named to the roster for a training camp from February 20-27. USWNT coach Jill Ellis will name her final 23-player roster for the SheBelieves Cup ahead of the tournament.

PORTLAND, Ore. – Portland Thorns FC midfielders Tobin Heath, Lindsey Horan and Allie Long, and defenders Meghan Klingenberg and Emily Sonnett have been named to the 25-player U.S. Women’s National Team roster for a training camp from Feb. 20-27 ahead of the 2017 SheBelieves Cup.
Taking place March 1-7, the United States opens the SheBelieves Cup against Germany (March 1) at Talen Energy Stadium in Chester, Penn.; kickoff is set for 4 p.m. (Pacific) on FS1 before squaring off against England on March 4 at Red Bull Arena in Harrison, N.J. at 2 p.m. on FOX. Wrapping up the tournament, the United States plays host to France at RFK Stadium in Washington, D.C. on March 7 at 4 p.m. (Pacific) on FS1.
Heath (128 caps), Horan (30 caps), Long (20 caps) and Sonnett (12 caps) all participated in a month-long January training camp with the U.S. Women’s National Team from Jan. 13-23 in Carson, Calif. Klingenberg (70 caps) returns to camp for the first time since starting in a 3-1 win against the Netherlands on Sept. 18, 2016, in Atlanta.
The final 23-player roster for the SheBelieves Cup will be announced ahead of the tournament. The SheBelieves Cup features four of the world’s top-five ranked teams in the United States (1), Germany (2), France (3) and England (5). The winner of the tournament will be based on total points with the tiebreakers in order of: best goal differential, goals scored, head-to-head record and FIFA ranking.
