Tom Brady saw this coming.

The record-setting Patriots quarterback — with seemingly no regard for superstition — pre-recorded an updated version of a local television commercial that showed him with a fifth Super Bowl ring, reveling in getting the last laugh on Deflategate foe Roger Goodell.

The spot for Shields Health Care Group had run throughout the season with Brady stashing his four rings in a locker before going for his MRI exam. In the amended version, which hit the airwaves Sunday night after the Patriots rallied for an improbable 34-28 overtime victory, Brady digs into his hoodie for a fifth piece of jewelry.

“I forgot this one,” Brady says. “It’s kind of new.”

The punchline comes when the MRI staffer tells him he’s going to need a bigger locker.

“Roger that,” Brady says, ba-dum ching.

Goodell and Brady shared the stage Monday morning in Houston as the commissioner handed Brady the MVP trophy, the fourth of the 39-year-old’s illustrious career, for his 43-completion, 466-yard performance in leading the Patriots back from a 25-point deficit.
