UCF landed four-star running back Cordarrian Richardson Thursday, bumping the Knights’ 2017 recruiting class to No. 1 in the American Athletic Conference.

Even after an extravagant commitment to Maryland and a video that featured a trip to "Outer Space" on National Signing Day, somehow Richardson flipped and is now a member of the UCF 2017 recruiting class. UCF confirmed the signing of the gifted running back from Memphis (Tenn.)  Thursday morning.

Richardson had a standout career at Trezevant High and was named one of Tennessee’s Mr. Football award winners after this past season.UCF may want to jot down the Jan. 13 weekend as a key moment in Knights football history.

That’s when Richardson, receiver Marlon Williams and linebacker Sterling Jones all took official visits to the school and all have now signed National Letters of Intent to join the Knights.

Richardson’s signing gave UCF the top ranking for 2017 recruiting classes among  teams in the American Athletic Conference. UCF’s class is ranked by 247Sports as the No. 54 overall class in the country, and Memphis is No. 59.

Richardson ran for nearly 5,000 yards during his career at Trezevant High. During last year’s class 2A state final, he ran for 342 yards as Trezevant won the crown. Richardson is the 23rd commitment to the ninth 2017 class and the second running back, joining Otis Anderson of Jacksonville University Christian.
