Matt Corral, one of the top quarterbacks in the nation for the class of 2018 and a USC commit, is no longer enrolled at Oaks Christian as confirmed by head of school Rob Black on Saturday.

“On Friday, February 10, the parents of Matt Corral elected to withdraw him from enrollment at Oaks Christian School,” Black said in an email. “Oaks Christian School wishes the best for Matt and his family.”

Black did not comment on why Corral left the school but sources have told the Daily News that the decision is allegedly related to a disciplinary matter that happened during the week.

Corral, rated the nation’s No. 2 quarterback and No. 9 player overall according to 24/7 Sports, started at Oaks Christian as a freshman and as a sophomore. He became one of the top quarterbacks in the state, throwing for 3,283 yards and 36 touchdowns. Last season as a junior, he threw for 3,188 yards and 25 touchdowns as Oaks Christian won its second consecutive Marmonte League title.

He also ran for 403 yards and seven touchdowns and was named to the Daily News All-Area team and the Cal-Hi Sports All-State second team. Corral has also been selected to play in the 2018 Army All-American Bowl.

Corral’s departure leaves the Lions in search of a quarterback. The team returns several highly regarded players, including sophomores Zach Charbonnet, Mycah Pittman and junior Bo Calvert, who also committed to USC.

Oaks Christian coach Jim Benkert declined comment and messages left for Corral’s parents were not returned.
