The Société québécoise du cannabis (SQDC) is temporarily offering, as of Wednesday, same-day delivery in the Mont-Tremblant region to ensure that customers in this sector, where the branch is closed due to a conflict of work that has been going on for six months, can have access to its products.

Customers in this sector who can no longer afford SQDC products in store will be able to place their order on the SQDC website before noon so that they can be delivered between 5:30 p.m. and 10 p.m. the same evening. The service is available seven days a week and costs $9 per order, the company said in a statement.

The postal codes served are: J8E, J0T 1B0, J0T 1M0, J0T 2G0, J0T 1P0, J0T 1J0. The municipalities that are covered by the service are: Mont-Tremblant, Brébeuf, La Conception, Saint-Faustin-Lac-Carré and Lac-Supérieur.

This new temporary service extension is in addition to the one announced last December in Saint-Jean-sur-Richelieu, Mirabel and Saint-Jérôme.

It should be noted that more than 200 unionized employees from 24 SQDC branches have been on strike since the end of May 2022. The latter, represented by the Canadian Union of Public Employees (CUPE), are demanding a significant catch-up salary to allow them to obtain a salary similar to that of their colleagues at the Société des alcools du Québec (SAQ).

Called to vote on a global offer from Quebec tabled on December 6, the workers decided in mid-December to reject it by 94%.
