Expect fair weather Monday for the Presidents day holiday, the National Weather Service said. 

The day will be mainly sunny once any clouds depart in the morning. Monday: will be cooler than Sunday, with highs in the 30s to mid-40s.

Temperatures will generally be well above average this week with a chance for light mixed wintry precipitation Tuesday evening through Tuesday night, forecasters said.

Washington’s Birthday: Sunny, with a high near 42. North wind 9 to 11 mph.

Tonight: Mostly clear, with a low around 22. North wind around 6 mph becoming calm in the evening.

Tuesday: A chance of showers, mainly after 4pm. Partly sunny, with a high near 40. Calm wind becoming south 5 to 9 mph in the morning. Chance of precipitation is 30%. New precipitation amounts of less than a tenth of an inch possible.

Tuesday Night: A chance of showers. Mostly cloudy, with a low around 34. South wind 5 to 9 mph. Chance of precipitation is 50%. New precipitation amounts between a tenth and quarter of an inch possible.

Wednesday: Partly sunny, with a high near 52. South wind 3 to 5 mph.

Wednesday Night: Partly cloudy, with a low around 37.

Thursday: Partly sunny, with a high near 59.

Thursday Night: Mostly cloudy, with a low around 37.

Friday: A chance of showers. Mostly cloudy, with a high near 48. Chance of precipitation is 30%.
