Spanish midfielder Alejandro Pozuelo, named Major League Soccer (MLS) Most Outstanding Player for 2020, is reportedly leaving Toronto FC to join Inter Miami.

According to the ESPN network, the Queen City club would get their hands on a sum of $ 150,000 in allowance money in return for the services of the 30-year-old player.

Pozuelo’s deal with Toronto FC was due to end this summer. He is currently the fourth highest paid player in MLS, with a salary of $4.69 million.

This departure, which frees up a designated player spot, coincides with the arrival of Italians Lorenzo Insigne and Domenico Criscito in the Canadian metropolis. The Toronto staff would also actively try to convince the international Federico Bernardeschi to join his compatriots.

In 19 appearances this season, Pozuelo has bagged four goals and five assists. He has played 88 games with CF Montreal’s biggest rivals since joining MLS in 2019.
