MADRID, 15 Jun. (EUROPA PRESS) –

The Consumer Price Index (CPI) of France moderated in May to 5.1% in the interannual rate, eight tenths below the increase of 5.9% of the previous month, as confirmed this Thursday by the National Institute of Statistics and Economic Studies (Insee).

In the case of harmonized inflation, used by Eurostat in its statistics, the interannual rate in France in May fell to 6% from 6.9% the previous month.

The slowdown in the rise in prices in May was due to the lower increase in energy prices (2% vs. 6.8%), as well as food (14.3% vs. 15%), manufactured goods ( 4.1% against 4.6%) and services (3% after 3.2%).
