The number of new commercial companies increased by 15.4% last July compared to the same month in 2022, reaching a total of 8,292 companies, according to data released this Monday by the National Institute of Statistics (INE).

With the rebound in July, almost one point higher than that registered in June, the creation of companies has chained seven consecutive months of year-on-year increases. However, the total number of incorporated companies marked its lowest figure in all of 2023 in the seventh month of the year.

For the constitution of the 8,292 companies created last July, just over 352.5 million euros were subscribed, which represents 10.7% more than in the same month of 2022, while the average subscribed capital, which is stood at 42,521 euros, decreased 4.1% year-on-year.

While the creation of companies increased, the dissolution of companies decreased in July, 4.8% compared to the same month in 2022, to a total of 1,546. In this way, every day of the month of July 50 companies closed their doors in Spain.

In the first seven months of the year, 11.2% more companies have been created than in the same period of 2022. For its part, the number of dissolved companies has decreased by 0.1% until July.

In monthly terms (July over June), the incorporation of new companies plummeted by 18.8%, its second largest monthly drop in a month of July in the last five years, only surpassed by that of July 2022 (-19, 4%).
