MADRID, 17 Oct. (EUROPA PRESS) –
The Ministry of Agriculture, Fisheries and Food, through the Spanish Agricultural Guarantee Fund (FEGA), has begun this Monday to transfer to the autonomous communities the 2,800 million euros for advance payments of direct aid from the Common Agricultural Policy ( PAC) corresponding to the 2022 campaign.
Specifically, these advance payments will benefit the nearly 650,000 farmers and ranchers who have submitted the single application for aid this campaign.
These advances, which have been calculated according to the forecasts of the regions and will last until November 30, seek to provide more liquidity to the farms.
In addition, they will help farmers and ranchers to better cope with the current economic shocks resulting from the war in Ukraine. The rest of the direct payments for this campaign will be paid from December 1.
The autonomous communities that participate in the pre-financing system of the European CAP funds, coordinated by the FEGA, have already communicated their intention to make advance payments for an initial amount of nearly 2,800 million euros, of which some more than 2,000 million euros will be paid between October 17 and 21.
Between the months of February and May, farmers and ranchers submit their annual applications to access direct aid from the CAP.
Due to climatic adversities, the situation of the prices of raw materials, fertilizers and energy, Spain asked the European Commission to increase the percentage that can be paid in advance of this type of aid this campaign. In this way, the European Commission authorized that the 50% advance payment established by the regulation could reach 70% of the total aid this year.
