MADRID, 23 Oct. (EUROPA PRESS) –
The Government has presented a letter of disagreement with the bill registered by the PP in the Senate to eliminate the Inheritance and Donation Tax at the national level, thus paralyzing its processing in the Upper House.
Those of Alberto Núñez Feijóo presented this bill in the Senate, where they have an absolute majority, with the aim of beginning to process this bill that proposes the national suppression of the Inheritance and Donation Tax, after several autonomous communities have already ended this tax in their territories.
However, the Government has used a mechanism to conclude its processing without taking it into consideration, alleging that this bill “directly affects the General State Budgets in force.”
Specifically, the ‘popular’ initiative directly proposed the elimination of the inheritance and donation tax at the national level, arguing that this tax “does not reach 1% of tax income”: “So its elimination does not have any type of unbearable damage to global revenue.”
And within its proposal, the PP also wanted the central government to financially compensate the Autonomous Communities for the elimination of this tax with the amount collected by each regional Executive in the last fiscal year.
