The Ibex 35 closed this Wednesday with a decrease of 0.92%, standing at 9,212.7 integers, in a context marked by the uncertainty of the implications of the conflict between Israel and Hamas.

This conflict has led to a new rise in the price of a barrel of oil. Specifically, Brent, a reference for the Old Continent, exceeds $91, while in the United States West Texas is close to $88.

Added to this is the fact that the yield on the ten-year US Treasury bond climbed this Wednesday towards the 5% threshold, at its highest level since July 2007, given the strength of the US economy that was greater than expected, which could force the Federal Reserve to continue raising interest rates.

In Spain, the yield on the bond maturing in ten years stood at 4.051%, above the 4.004% it registered at the close of Tuesday. In this way, the risk premium against German debt rose three tenths, to 112.5 basis points.

Renta 4 analysts recall that today the Fed’s ‘Beige Book’ will be released, which will serve as a prelude to the central bank meeting on November 1, “where the probability of a new rate increase of 25 basis points is practically non-existent, to the extent that the sharp rise in bond yields is already doing the job for the Fed.

On the other hand, it has been known that China’s GDP expanded by 1.3% in the third quarter compared to the period from April to June, when the expansion was 0.5%.

For its part, in Europe today it was published that the interannual inflation rate of the United Kingdom in the month of September was 6.7%, in line with the price increase of the previous month; while the eurozone figure moderated to 4.3% in the ninth month of the year, nine tenths less than in August.

In the Ibex 35, the only values ​​that have ended positively have been Acciona Energía (4.04%), Repsol (1.20%), Acciona (0.55%), Bankinter (0.36%) and Mapfre ( 0.35%).

On the other hand, the largest decreases were recorded by ArcelorMittal (-3.95%), IAG (-3.05%), Cellnex (-2.74%), Grifols (-2.63%), Fluidra (- 2.59%) and Colonial (-2.41%).

In the rest of the European cities, falls of 1.14% in London, 1.03% in Frankfurt, 0.91% in Paris and 0.82% in Milan have also been recorded.

Regarding currencies, the euro depreciated 0.43% against the dollar, reaching 1.0531 dollars for each unit of the community currency.
