MADRID, 18 Oct. (EUROPA PRESS) –
The industry’s turnover fell by 6.2% last August compared to the same month in 2022, mainly due to the decline in sales of energy and intermediate goods, which decreased by 17. 7% and 13.1%, respectively, according to data released this Wednesday by the National Institute of Statistics (INE).
With the year-on-year decline in August, the industry’s turnover has now seen five months of year-on-year declines, although that of August was more pronounced than that recorded the previous month (-5.1%).
In monthly terms (August over July) and in data corrected for seasonality and calendar, the industry increased its sales by 0.7%, one tenth less than in July. However, with this monthly rebound, there are now two consecutive months in which the industry increases its turnover.
