MADRID, 7 Ago. (EUROPA PRESS) –
Spanish companies invested 4,132 million euros through leasing to finance movable and real estate assets in the first six months of the year, which represents an increase of 11.5% compared to the same period in 2022, according to the latest data published by the Spanish Association of Leasing and Renting (AELR).
New investment through ‘leasing’ on real estate amounted to 231.2 million euros up to May, 19.7% less, while that of personal property grew by 14.2%, to a total of 3,901 million euros.
By region, leasing contracts worth 829.1 million euros were signed in Madrid, 23.7% more than in the first six months of 2022, while in Catalonia the turnover totaled 626.5 million euros, with a decrease of 4.6%.
The duration of the contracts until June was 55.1 months, in line with the 55.4 months of the same comparable period last year.
The president of AELR, José Coronel de Palma y Martínez-Agulló, stressed that the “favorable” evolution of the leasing market shows that companies and the self-employed value it as a management tool to address their business investments.
