The PSOE has registered a non-legal proposal in Congress to urge the Government to develop and implement the Agricultural Exploitation Information System, a mechanism promoted by the Ministry of Agriculture that aims to simplify procedures between the Administration and farmers and farmers, especially with regard to the Common Agricultural Policy (CAP).

Through a ministerial order, the department directed by Luis Planas published the minimum content of the Autonomous Register of Agricultural Exploitations and the Digital Notebook of Agricultural Exploitation, which are the main elements of the system.

In its proposal, to which Europa Press has had access, the PSOE explains that the new system is an “ambitious” but at the same time “complex” project, since it has required the collaboration and effort of different actors and organizations, both public and private.

Specifically, the SIEX will be made up of the information included in the notebooks and books of the registries that the autonomous communities have of the agricultural exploitations. These data will be copied into the database that the Ministry of Agriculture, Fisheries and Food will have.

The purpose of the registry is to undertake the digitization of the agricultural sector, says the PSOE, reducing procedures, automating the single application for the CAP and, ultimately, achieving “effective management of it.” In this sense, the PSOE wants farmers and ranchers to be able to reuse the SIEX information in their business management, in order to have “all the information available”.

In another non-legal proposal, to which Europa Press has also agreed, the Socialists urge the Government to defend the interests and priorities of the agri-food and fishing sector during its presidency of the Council of the European Union.

The PSOE has had an impact on defending some issues “of great interest” such as the regulation of information to consumers, such as labeling of origin, nutritional front or date marking; vegetables produced with new genomic techniques or the regulations for the sustainable use of phytosanitary products.
