The “Celebration 2023” gala will be more musical than ever this Sunday on TVA.

Producer and director Jean-François Blais wanted to take viewers and draw participants on a journey through time, in unique numbers that will be presented live, starting at 7 p.m., from the Théâtre du Casino du Lac-Leamy, in Gatineau.

“I wanted us to get out of the mold without distorting the gala. Everything is integrated and there is wall-to-wall music. I want the party up and there will be no downtime. We do not feel the detachment between the prints and the numbers, “said Mr. Blais, who notably piloted “Live from the universe”, “La Voix” and the Gala Artis.

“We have fun in different themes. We visit the generations, we are interested for example in the conquest of space by rewriting history: it is therefore not Neil Armstrong who walked on the Moon, but Claude Cobra of Bleu Jeans Bleu! In short, we create stories for each of the segments, ”he added on Wednesday, on the sidelines of rehearsals.

To lead the ball for this 34th edition, Sébastien Benoît is back for a fourth consecutive year, but this is his second in “normal formula” in front of an audience, the pandemic having played spoilsport during the last two galas.

Sébastien Benoît is also delighted that we are stirring the cage so that it is “less a variety number, followed by a draw and so on”, he told the QMI Agency, specifying that he was “added things to do left and right”.

The experienced host will be supported by two great artists, Gregory Charles and Véronic DiCaire. And although he does not sing, his two companions do, and they will do so with the other guest artists Marie-Luce Béland, Bleu Jeans Bleu, Corneille, Lunou, Pierre Lapointe and Suzie Villeneuve. The DM Nation troupe will also be on hand to give even more rhythm to this great celebration which, as Véronic pointed out, “allows us to extend” the holiday season.

Gregory Charles, for his part, is delighted that it is a musical “rolling fire” throughout. “It will be a very good entertaining and there will be emotion for everyone,” said the one-man band.

Corneille, who we will see on “La Voix” from January 15 as a coach, will share two songs he usually does. “We just want to see people making cash and getting gifts. Singing with other artists, like Bleu Jeans Bleu, is great “fun” too,” he said.

For his part, Mathieu Lafontaine, alias Claude Cobra, of Bleu Jeans Bleu, indicated that his group will perform the song “Molle Twist Vanille-Vanille”, taken from the group’s most recent opus, “Top Minou”.

It’s ComediHa! now, which produces the “Celebration 2023” gala, in collaboration with Quebecor Content.

In addition to the services, Celebrations 2023 will make it possible to do several. Among the most anticipated prizes are the $5 million jackpot, five $1 million prizes, 40 prizes of $50,000 and 50 getaways worth $5,000. Some 31 prizes of $25,000 were also drawn from December 1 to 31.
