Emergency crews have cleared a crash that created more than a mile-long backup on Interstate 4 this morning through Seminole County.

The crash happened about 5:35 a.m. near Mile Marker 96, just before the exit to State Road 434.

Florida Highway Patrol troopers responded to the scene and reported that at least one person was injured. Details about the person’s injuries haven’t been released.

Traffic cameras showed emergency vehicles initially blocking two left lanes. Vehicles were getting by in a far right lane, but backups stretched as far as Sanford.

Details about the crash weren’t immediately available. The lanes reopened before 7 a.m.

Traffic officials this morning were also warning drivers to watch for pockets of dense fog.

The fog moved into Central Florida overnight and was reducing visibility in some spots to about a quarter of a mile, according to the National Weather Service in Melbourne.

Forecasters expect most of the fog to lift by about 8 a.m.
