TROY – A driver’s honest answer about the alcohol consumption played a role in his arrest for drunken driving, State Police said.
Troopers said they arrested Darryl G. Whited II of Watervliet on January 22, charged him with driving while intoxicated.
Whited’s car was stopped on Pawling Avenue.
Troopers said they smelled an odor of alcohol “around” Whited and he “admitting that he probably should not be driving considering how much alcohol he had been drinking.”
Whited was arrested after several field sobriety tests, troopers said. Whited was later given an alcohol breath test and he registered .15 percent, nearly twice the level to be charged with DWI.
Whited was given an appearance ticket for Troy City Court.
