SANTANDER, 3 Abr. (EUROPA PRESS) –

Two people have died, one has been seriously injured, another has disappeared and six have been rescued this morning as a result of the sinking of the fishing vessel Villaboa Uno, based in Santander, off the coast of Cabo Mayor in the Cantabrian capital.

One of the deceased is a Spanish national and the other a native of Ghana, and the rescue device continues to search for the crew member who disappeared in the sinking, whose causes are unknown at the moment.

According to official sources, the Maritime Rescue Center received notice at 4:10 a.m. of the sinking of a fishing vessel that was fishing six miles north of Cabo Mayor, the Vilaboa Uno, based in Santander.

The search device for the missing crew member is integrated, by sea, by the Salvamar Deneb, and the MarĂ­a de Maetzu Maritime Rescue ship is arriving from Bilbao to collaborate in the work; and by air, taking turns, the Helimer 202 helicopters of Maritime Rescue, the Government of Cantabria and the Civil Guard.

The emergency is being managed from the Maritime Rescue Coordination Center in Santander.
