MADRID, 27 Mar. (EUROPA PRESS) –
Urbas has bought assets from the Silos group, the parent company of Silos Córdoba, through its subsidiary Desarrollos Renovables Zimmerman, as announced on Monday by the company specializing in sustainable infrastructures and buildings, real estate development and renewable energies.
The operation includes the hiring of part of the Silos Córdoba staff and the rest of the Silos group companies, which will allow a large part of the employment to be maintained and give continuity to the business after the sale of the Silos Córdoba production unit was unsuccessfully concluded. .
This division entered bankruptcy in January 2021, which led to the liquidation of the company and the collective dismissal of all its workers.
Silos Córdoba is specialized in structures for grain storage and feed manufacturing, livestock equipment, transport machinery and metal coatings.
The Cordovan company began its international expansion in the 1990s, setting up a commercial network with turnkey projects and comprehensive solutions in more than 50 countries in Europe, Latin America, Asia, the Middle East and Africa.
Urbas has highlighted that this operation facilitates the generation of synergies, especially with its engineering subsidiary Ingeser, for example, in the silo plant for conditioning and storage of up to 60,000 tons of soybeans that it is executing in Bolivia.
After sealing the acquisition, Urbas has announced that new soon-to-be-executed contracts have already been signed for new clients in Portugal, Germany and Sri Lanka.
