In the brilliant book “The right time, the science of perfect timing,” – published by editions Flammarion – two sociologists from Cornell university have sifted through no less than 500 million tweets written by more than 2 billion human beings through a computer program text in order to evaluate their emotional content. The result is as fun as it is informative: the messages posted in the morning are decidedly optimistic. And more the day passes, the more the messages become defeatist… until the end of the day, where the tone becomes again positive.

As to the portion of the population which is concerned by this trend, no complications to note: this result is valid everywhere in the world. No matter the age, color of skin, or the strat social individuals concerned! All the world is housed in the same boat. Positive mood increases the morning, declines after the lunch hour, and increases again at the end of the day. In truth, it’s all a matter of timing: this book is an ode to the question “when?”. It is a synthesis of the latest research in psychology, biology and neuroscience.

At 9 o’clock in the morning, the probability of encountering a problem is 1%. This probability rises to 4% at 16 hours.

In the same book, we can read other findings scientists – more than 700 in total – all amazing. Thus, through a method similar to that used for the tweets, one can get the flavor of the conversations that were issued in 2100 american companies listed in the stock Exchange!
