HEALDSBURG: Dinners for jazz festival

The Healdsburg Jazz Festival presents its seventh annual Jazz on the Menu dinner fundraiser on Feb. 23 at nine restaurants in Healdsburg and Windsor.

Diners make a dinner reservation at any of the participating restaurants, which will donate 25 percent of the sales to the Healdsburg Jazz Music Education Fund. Following the meal, there will be a party at 7:30 p.m. at Costeaux French Bakery in Healdsburg featuring live music and more food.

Tickets are $15 for the party, at healdsburgjazzfestival.org. Participating restaurants include Baci Cafe and Wine Bar, Cafe Lucia, Campo Fina, Catelli’s Restaurant, Chalkboard, Healdsburg Shed, Kinsmoke, Spoonbar and Valette.

NAPA: Copia’s grand opening

The Culinary Institute of America at Copia will hold a grand opening celebration this weekend, Feb. 18 and 19, at its campus in Napa.

On Saturday and Sunday from noon to 5 p.m., there will be cooking and wine-tasting classes, book signings and chef demonstrations, plus continuous food-related film shorts in the theater and wine tastings in the Atrium. Costs range from free to $50.

At 2:30 p.m. Saturday, institute president Tim Ryan will lead a ribbon-cutting with local government officials.

BODEGA BAY: Chowder Day winners

The winners of the 14th annual Chowder Day in Bodega Bay have been announced, with Spud Point Crab Co.of Bodega Bay taking first place in the blind tasting and second place in the people’s choice.

In the people’s choice awards, Gourmet Au Bay of Bodega Bay took first place and Bluewater Bistro at Bodega Harbour took third place.

The blind tasting was judged by three culinary experts, including Bert Rangal of River’s End and Laurie Figone of Petaluma. Fisherman’s Cove of Bodega Bay took second place and Rocker Oysterfeller’s of Valley Ford took third place.

The popular event sold out this year, which was the first time that tickets were sold in advance. The culinary tour benefits various Bodega Bay events, including the Independence Day fireworks show.

FORESTVILLE: Twist Eatery reopens

After taking a winter break, Twist Eatery has opened again from 11 a.m. to 4 p.m. Tuesday through Saturday in downtown Forestville.

Boathouse Asian Eatery at the Graton Resort & Casino is offering dishes to bring luck and prosperity in honor of the Chinese New Year.
