The Cologne police have drawn up a criminal complaint against deputy AfD-head of Bundestag, Beatrix von Storch. There will be an investigation into suspicion of incitement of people, said a police spokesperson against Faz.net. On New Year’s Eve, Stork had excited about a tweet from Cologne police who had published New Years greetings in several languages, including Arabic. “What hell is going on in this country?” wrote von Storch. “Why does an official police site from NRW tweet in Arabic?” It was followed by undifferentiating and racist insults against Muslim men.

Twitter n blocked politician for twelve hours with reference to a “violation of rules on hate content”. The tweet is no longer found on Stork’s reactivated Twitter page, but it has published a screenshot of it on Facebook with words “let’s see if you can say this on Facebook”. In her post, Stork repeated her statement, but she narrowed it down considerably. Looking at Muslims, she wrote that y were ones that state had set up for women in New Year’s Eve shelter tents. Even this post is no longer online.
The AfD group chairman Alice Weiden defended on Facebook from Storch. She spoke of a “censorship law.” She also claimed that re was a “subjugation” of German authorities towards migrants. Undifferentiating accusations were also made by Weiden, but in this case not only directed at Muslims, but to all migrants.
