The constitutional Court ruled Thursday in the High school Francisco Ferrer of the City of Brussels. The institution has the right to prohibit its students from wearing signs showing a membership, philosophical or religious beliefs, including a head covering.
Several of the students had introduced in November 2017, in an action for injunction before the court of first instance of Brussels against the regulations of internal order of the school. The court posed a preliminary question to the constitutional Court about a provision in a decree of 1994 of the French Community, on which is based the regulation.
