The special committee of the Chamber that focus on the colonial past of Belgium was formally installed this afternoon. Wouter De Vriendt (Groen) will be the president.
The Commission must be clear about the independent State of Congo (1885-1908) and the colonial past of Belgium in the Congo (1908-1960), Rwanda and Burundi (1919-1962), and draw lessons for the future.
