Delacey Walters, 27, was sentenced in Summit County Common Pleas Court and will not be eligible for parole for 45 years, the Summit County Prosecutor’s Office said in a news release. Walters was convicted Jan. 31 of nine counts of rape of a child under 10 years old and five counts of gross sexual imposition.
Walters sexually abused three girls – a 2-year-old and two 8-year-olds – between October and December 2015, police said. The abuse took place while the girls’ mother was at work.
The children reported the sexual abuse to their father, who alerted police. Doctors discovered that Walters gave all three girls sexually transmitted diseases, prosecutors said. Walters lied to investigators and tried to hide the results of his medical tests from police, the release states.
Walters has two previous felony convictions. He spent two years behind bars after hitting a Akron police cruiser during a 2012 chase, records show. He was also convicted of aggravated assault in 2007.
