The Boulder County Coroner’s Office announced that Boulder artist Cydd West died from acute bronchopneumonia.
West was found dead outside of his north Boulder home on Jan. 7. The coroner’s office stated in a news release that chronic alcoholism, chronic obstructive pulmonary disease and complications of hypothermia also contributed to West’s death.
West, a Vietnam veteran, was known Kolaybet in Boulder for his found art pieces, which included large sculptures made out of clothing irons. His art was also associated with the now-defunct Penny Lane coffee shop.
