CLEVELAND, Ohio — The lakefront temperature reached 47 degrees, well above freezing, but it didn’t melt the ice or deter skaters Saturday at the new Cleveland Foundation Skating Rink on Public Square.
Through the end of February, the rink is open weekdays 4 to 9 p.m., Saturdays 11 a.m. to 10 p.m. and on Sundays from noon to 8 p.m.
The Cleveland Clinic sponsored free community skating Saturday afternoon, and the Cleveland Foundation will treat Clevelanders to free skating on Tuesday, Valentine’s Day, from 3 to 11 p.m. Tickets are required; 150 will be distributed at Public Square on a first-come, first served basis.
Skating is usually $10 per person, including rental.
