MESA, Ariz. — While Cubs strength and conditioning coach Tim Buss likes to send a message with his daily training camp attire, he took his accessories to a whole new level on Tuesday at Sloan Park.

With music blaring and heads turning, Buss drove a stunning white and black Ferrari onto the practice field as players were gathering for their morning workout stretches.

Buss, wearing a pair of sunglasses while talking on his cellphone behind the wheel, popped out of the luxury model wearing a fine suit and tie to complete the hey-look-at-me ensemble.

The splashy entrance was another attempt to drive home one of Cubs manager Joe Maddon’s messages this spring: humility.

Buss, naturally, showed players what the opposite of humility looks like, and stayed in character while leading the exercises in his new suit.
