ORANGE, Ohio — Assault, Brainard and Harvard roads: A Northfield man, 34, reported on Jan. 27 that he had been stopped at the intersection light just before 7 p.m. when another driver got out of his car and approached him.

When he rolled down his window, the suspect punched him in the mouth, then got back in his white Chrysler Sebring with Indiana plates and took off, but not before the victim took a photo of the car.

The victim declined medical transport and the investigation is continuing.

Harassing communications, Brainard Road: A resident reported getting multiple harassing phone calls on or around Jan. 27 from a man saying he was with Hewlett Packard and claiming she had downloaded a virus into her computer, saying he wanted $500 to remove it.

Hit-skip, squad call, Chagrin Boulevard: A woman reported about 12:45 p.m. on Jan. 27 that she was pulling out of Wendy’s restaurant when her car was hit by a silver Lexus which then fled the scene.

She had a child in her car, and believed the suspect had driver’s side damage. Orange police responded initially, then turned the investigation over to Woodmere.

Disabled motor vehicle, U.S. 422: A car partially blocking one of the eastbound lanes around noon on Jan. 31 was moved out of traffic a short time later. Then an officer assisted a Good Samaritan who stopped and assisted but locked the keys in his car.
