An 81-year-old woman died in a fire at her Bronx apartment building early Tuesday, officials said.
Patricia Parrish was overcome by smoke while inside her 7th floor apartment on St. Raymonds Avenue near Olmstead Avenue in Parkchester.
The fire started on Parrish’s floor shortly after midnight, quickly filling her apartment with smoke, officials said.
Parrish was discovered unresponsive when firefighters brought the blaze under control.
She was taken to Jacobi Hospital where she was pronounced dead.
The cause of the fire is still under investigation.
