CLEVELAND, Ohio — Taking advantage of the millions of eyes that will be watching Super Bowl LI, Fox will air a special sneak peek from the second half of Season 3 of “Empire.”
In the 30-second trailer, Cookie is a woman scorned. Based on the dialogue, the storyline revolves around Cookie uncovering information about Lucious’ plan to remove her from the family business.
In a scene paying homage to Beyonce’s “Lemonade,” a bat-wielding Cookie attacks Lucious and ransacks sections of the Empire offices.
“You built this company on my back,” says a distraught Cookie Lyon. “And you want to erase me?”
“Empire” returns on Wednesday, March 22 at 9 p.m. ET, one week after the “Star” season finale.
