STRONGSVILLE, Ohio — LeBron James soon won’t have to drive that far to enjoy his favorite pizza.

Blaze Fast Fire’d Pizza, the fast-casual chained co-owned by the NBA superstar, is planning its first Cuyahoga County location in Strongsville.

According to the city’s Facebook page, the restaurant will open at the Commons at SouthPark, next to CoreLife Eatery in the plaza that used to house a Giant Eagle.

No word on when Blaze Pizza will open, but when it does, it could be the third make-your-own quick pizza spot in town. Pizza Fire opened late last year on Pearl Road. 1000 Degrees Neapolitan Pizza is planning to open at the Plaza at South Park, next to Rosewood Grill, according to the Facebook post.

Blaze Pizza is one of the fastest growing chains in the country, but the Strongsville location will be just the third in the area. The first location, on Dressler Road near Belden Village Mall in Canton, is scheduled to open on Feb. 27. The second, at Creekside Commons in Mentor, will open at a later date.

Blaze Pizza features the familiar assembly-line setup, similar to Chipotle, where diners go down the line, choose the crust, sauce and toppings for their pizza, which is then shoved into a huge stone-hearth oven for three minutes.

James was one of Blaze’s original investors in 2012. According to ESPN, he owns about 10 percent of the company along with franchise rights in Chicago and Miami.
