Only 5.5% of the Belgian have antibodies against the coronavirus in the blood, according to the fourth, and last, extensive serological study of scientists from the University of Antwerp. In the previous survey, almost 7% of the population was protected, report vrtnws.be and De Standaard on Wednesday.

The presence of antibodies in the blood indicates whether the person has been infected with the new coronavirus. For this latest study, the scientists analysed blood samples of 2.960 people. The samples were held between 8 and 13 June.
