Mountain View Fire Rescue firefighters are responding to a grass fire that started shortly after 1:30 p.m. in Erie.
The fire is burning in a field east of Cheesman and Katte streets and was growing in size near the railroad tracks, according to dispatchers.
Mountain View spokeswoman Emma Douglas said she did not have an estimate on size as of about 2:15 p.m.
She said there are three engines and two brush trucks on scene working on containment.
