BANFF, ALTA.—Parks Canada has issued a special avalanche warning for the Rocky Mountain national parks.

The warning is aimed at people who plan to ski or snowboard out of bounds in Jasper, Banff, Yoho, and Kootenay national parks over the next few days.

It also applies to backcountry skiers.

Parks Canada says there have been lots of large avalanches over the past week.

Forecasters says conditions will be very tricky and dangerous at the treeline and above over the next few days and large human-triggered avalanches are possible.

Parks Canada says skiers and boarders with no or limited avalanche training need to resist the lure of fresh snow in out-of-bounds terrain.
