A man was arrested and fake guns were seized Wednesday night after police checked out reports of drug use and fighting inside of a Jamaica housing project, cops say.
Responding to calls of men fighting and using narcotics in the staircase of a Queens tenement on 159th Street and South Road, cops arrived and discovered three men– two of whom were holding firearms– on the second floor of the apartment building.
The cops drew their guns and told the men not to move, at which point one of the perps turned towards the officers with an apparent gun still in his hand.
One of the officers let loose a round but did not strike the man or injure any others.
Two of the three men fled, leaving behind the third with the two imitation weapons.
The man has been arrested and cops are still searching for the other two outstanding suspects.
