CLEVELAND, Ohio — Pride in the CLE, a march and event which replaced the canceled Cleveland Pride event last year, will happen again this year, on June 3.
The celebration is presented by the LGBT Community Center of Greater Cleveland. This year, the march will close out a week of celebration that starts May 29, according to a press release.
Last year organizers came together from 18 different groups to put on the parade and event, which took place in Public Square. Many of the same people are returning, with support from the city of Cleveland, Cleveland City Council and Ward 3 Councilperson Kerry McCormack, according to the release.
The march will end in Public Square again this year.

Cleveland Pride 2017 is a separate event scheduled for June 24, according to the Cleveland Pride Inc.’s website. It will take place at Voinovich Bicentennial Park, according to a Facebook event.
Cleveland Pride took place for 27 years before the event for 2016 was cancelled. Organizers cited security concerns following the Pulse shooting in Orlando, which came less than a month before the event was set to take place.
The event was going to move last year to Mall C from Voinovich Park.
