RICHMOND HEIGHTS, Ohio

Weapons offense, Dickens Drive:

A resident reported at 9:53 p.m. Feb. 13 someone fired gunshots at his home and he believed he knew who was responsible. The man, 24, said he was involved in an incident earlier in the day with a man who robbed him at gunpoint two weeks earlier in Cleveland Heights. He said the man kept telling him “I got something for you.” He also believed he saw the man’s vehicle on his street earlier in the day. Officers did not locate a suspect, but did find four shell casings and one bullet fragment near the home. They believe they have surveillance video of the incident, which is under investigation.

Drunkenness, Richmond Road:

A Richmond Heights man, 28, was arrested for disorderly conduct while intoxicated around 2:30 a.m. Feb. 11 after he was seen jumping into the roadway in front of passing cars. Officers found him in the entrance drive to the high school. He told them he was coming from “some bar.” He said he lived in an apartment on Richmond Park Drive and did not have his keys with him. He insisted however he would be able to get into the apartment with or without keys. He was subsequently arrested due to his unruliness.

Impaired driving, Curtiss Wright Parkway:

A Willoughby man, 35, was arrested for OVI around 2:30 a.m. Feb. 9 after his vehicle was stopped for not having its rear license plate illuminated.

Recovered vehicle, Richmond Road:

Officers stopped a vehicle for weaving at 12:16 a.m. Feb. 8 and learned it was reported as stolen by the Lake County Sheriff’s Office. The driver was a Cleveland man, 24, and the passenger was a 23-year-old Richmond Heights woman. They were taken into custody. A subsequent search of the vehicle resulted in the discovery of a loaded gun, approximately 11 grams of suspected heroin, marijuana and $294 in cash.

Burglary, Chestnut Drive:

A man reported Feb. 12 his apartment was broken into the previous day and a digital camera, valued at $500, was taken from a countertop. He suspected the apartment staff stole the camera because they had been inside renovating it as he was in the process of moving in. There were no signs of forced entry and no evidence to help identify a suspect.

Disturbance, Chestnut Drive:

A woman reported at 10:55 p.m. Dec. 12 her boyfriend had locked her out of her apartment after an argument and would not let her return. Officers determined the man was packing some of his belongings and the woman did not want him to leave her. The man had also knocked over and damaged a TV, which he agreed to replace. While inside the apartment, officers noticed an ashtray filled with burnt marijuana cigarettes. The man, 18, was subsequently cited for marijuana possession and the woman, 19, was cited for possession of marijuana paraphernalia. The man was allowed to leave for a while to help resolved the argument.
