David Brown, 33, of Oldsmar, was killed after Brian Mytych, 43, shot him several times around 1 a.m. at Hennessy’s Bar & Grille, 127 Forest Lakes Blvd, deputies said.

Deputies say the shooting stemmed from an altercation at the business between the two on Feb. 6. that resulted in Mytych being banned from the bar.

Witnesses say Mytych came back to the bar during early Wednesday morning and was told to leave.

He did so, but returned a short time later with a .45-caliber gun and shot Brown multiple times, deputies said. Brown died at the scene.

Deputies say Mytych told patrons to leave, alerted law enforcement, and stayed at the scene until deputies arrived.

Following the Feb. 6 altercation, Mytych was arrested charges of disorderly intoxication that involved disturbance, according to jail records. He received a no-trespassing citation and was banned from entering the bar.

Mytych is currently in custody and faces a charge of first-degree murder, deputies said.
