The House approved on Friday at about 2: 30 by 109 votes in favour, 29 against and 6 abstentions, a motion that creates a special commission charged to examine the management of the pandemic of sars coronavirus. It may become a commission of inquiry “at any time” if it were to encounter difficulties in the exercise of its missions.
The text is a compromise proposal of the PS that have co-signed the MR, Open Vld, CD&V, N-VA and Challenge. This commission will examine the measures taken at the federal level on the way in which Belgium is prepared to face a pandemic, the decisions taken since the onset of the crisis, the management of the equipment, the organization of hospital capacities, the availability of screening, the chain of communication to the authorities or the agreements with the pharmaceutical industry. It shall conduct a regular dialogue with the special commissions set up in the regional parliaments.
