A teen stole a woman’s purse in Queens and then ran off into a nearby park — where he was mauled by a pair of stray dogs, police sources said.
The incident began Tuesday when the 15-year-old saw a woman get off an MTA bus at Springfield Boulevard and 145th Avenue in Springfield Gardens and place her purse on a nearby bench, sources said.
The thief then snatched the bag and took off running into nearby Springfield Park.
As he was making his getaway, a German shepherd and a pit-bull happened to be roaming around the park and began chasing the boy.
The dogs easily caught him and began biting him all over his body, sources said.
“Talk about karma biting him in the ass — literally,” joked a police source.
A group of cops from the NYPD’s Emergency Services Unit happened to be paroling the area at the time and shot the animals with tranquilizer darts.
The badly injured teen was rushed to Long Island Jewish Medical Center where he was treated for his injuries, which may have required skin grafts, sources said.
Charges against him are pending.
The dogs were turned over to an ASPCA facility in Manhattan, sources said.
