WESTLAKE, Ohio – Westlake candidates filed petitions for the office of mayor, as well as all six council seats, law director and council president for the May 2 primary election. Mayor and council candidates serve four year terms.
Current mayor Dennis Clough filed petitions for re-election to an eighth term. He is unopposed. The city law director, as well as four council seats and council president are being challenged.
Ward 2 councilman Nick C. Nunnari and ward 4 councilman Michael O’Donnell have no opposition.
Those running for positions with opposition in the primary election include:
- City law director: Michael P. Maloney and Andrea F. Rocco
- President of council: Michael F. Killeen and Joe Kraft
- Ward 1 council: Lynda M. Appel, Brendan Edward Delay and Duane Vandyke
- Ward 3 council: Kevin Reilly and Dennis J. Sullivan
- Ward 5 council: Kenneth R. Brady and Amy Green Havelka
- Ward 6 council: Christine Covey and Mark R. Getsay
In Rocky River’s municipal court district, current judge Donna Congeni Fitzsimmons filed petitions for re-election.
