An unexpected visitor Thursday afternoon to Raub’s Farm Market in Palmer Township got into quite a tangle.

The Palmer Municipal Fire Department and township police responded shortly after 4:30 p.m. to the market after a stray cat wandered in and became trapped in the phone lines serving the building, fire Assistant Chief Jim Alercia said.

“The cat was a bit angry and scared,” he said. “We calmed the cat down and started cutting the wires and we were able to free the cat.”

The black stray did not appear seriously injured.

“It kind of went on its way,” Alercia said. “He was fine.”

Phones were working Thursday night at the market, 1459 Tatamy Road. A woman who answered there declined to comment.

Raub’s is open year-round, carrying fresh local produce, and is known for its 14-acre corn maze in the fall.
