Investigators on Thursday still were looking for the cause of a fire that seriously damaged a two-story Kelseyville home and killed two pets.
Fire, heat and smoke ruined much of the Riviera Heights home Tuesday night, Kelseyville fire Capt. Jim Dowdy said.
Residents, a woman and her daughter, arrived home about 8:30 p.m. to find the house on fire and called for help. Firefighters found fire in the kitchen spreading into the living room and knocked down the flames in about 10 minutes, Dowdy said.
A dog and cat died in the Lake County fire. Other pets survived, the captain said.
