Greensburg resident Bob Recklein, 26, has announced that he plans to run for City Council.
Recklein will seek the Democratic nomination in May's primary.
A graduate of Greensburg Salem High School and the University of Pittsburgh at Greensburg, Recklein is already politically active as a member of the City of Greensburg Planning Commission and president of the Young Democrats of Westmoreland County.
“I am running for council because I believe in this city and its people,” he said in a statement.“I will work tirelessly to bring new investments and developments and fight for the funding that our first responders need and deserve.”
